Follow the light…

As I’m in my kitchen, feeding my children that “last snack” (after brushing their teeth) that they begged for- saying, like most nights, they’re too hungry to sleep yet…

I try to hustle them along since we’re past bedtime, and as they finish up the last blueberry, I turn off the light in the kitchen/dining area.

I did this to further assist them in the understanding that we are moving on… were no longer dwelling in this place (the kitchen).

We’re moving along. My son says “Mommmmm!! Turn on the light I can’t see!!!” But mom is not doing that, I don’t say anything- just move toward the next room. He gets it. He sees by the light of the lit room that lies ahead, and gets that “mom is moving on”. I just sensed a God moment happening here. Isn’t it so parallel to our walk with our good Father? Our wise King.

We go through various seasons and conditions with the Lord. It is part of our journey. But through it, He is with us. Guiding and leading us. He is patient, gentle and loving but also very wise and firm. Sometimes, if we’re having a hard time moving on, He will allow a fog or as He moves- the light also moves. He is the Light.

He does this because He is done in that place and is moving on to something new. To be with Him & to be able to see clearly- we must follow Him & go where He is going. This brings to mind this story about the Israelites journey in the wilderness:

Numbers 9:15-18.

On the day the tabernacle, the tent of the covenant law, was set up, the cloud covered it. From evening till morning the cloud above the tabernacle looked like fire. 16That is how it continued to be; the cloud covered it, and at night it looked like fire. 17Whenever the cloud lifted from above the tent, the Israelites set out; wherever the cloud settled, the Israelites encamped.

The featured photo was from a much needed hike I was privileged to take. I believe in this place began the transition from “the wilderness” to this new and higher place He is leading me to. I wasn’t able to see very clearly and got a bit stuck in this previous season. But He lovingly helped me along and as I am making my focus >[being with Him]< everything is naturally being ILLUMINATED 🔥🕊.
